All praise is to Allah

schooling in Syria

Alhumdullilah, all praise is to Allah.I feel so happy inside, words are not enough to express them.
I took photos of the kids this morning before school and making dua this site will work.Very glad to see my loving sisters responded.Made my day.
So, sending today photos of the kids in 2007 and photos of them now 2010 l(recent ones).
As you will see, they have grown and have their mothers DNA (some of their dads) just joking.
The younger children,Hamzah (11),Khadijah (9)have been doing school for two years now and this will be the third.Alhumdulillah they are doing very well.
Teaching methods overhere are very different but I cannot complain to much as the kids are learning what we made intention for.
Have a bit of an advantage as the kids never went to school in Australia so they don't have anything to compare except for me home schooling them.
My kids would be very happy to stay at home.Unfortunately, mum has retired!I only tutor!!!!!
Sidrahs (6), first year in kindy. Mashallah, after four days said she needed a break LOL.Had a good cry and went to school the next day.
She is learning so much ,so fast.
Daaniah (14) and Alaa(16) are also in school. It is a sharia school that teaches both Islamic and secular education.Alhumdullilah, things are going o.k with the girls. They passed last year and made friends and started speaking more Arabic, which was our only intention.Making dua for a fruitful year from them.Ameen
As for Fatimah(17), studying her year 12 from home.Alhumdulliah she is doing well.We also have a teacher that comes to the house to teach us Arabic so,Insha Allah all is khair with her and me.

Enough reading for you and writing from me. See the before and after photos of the kids.

Snow in Syria

Well, the first thing I would like to share with everyone is the best experience away from home so far and that was the snow.
When we arrived in 2007(wow!time fly's)it was winter and very cold.Early in the new year 2008, while visiting one of my husbands family it started snowing.
I have to say, we were acting like small kids. Touching and eating the snow while half hanging out of the building to do so. All the kids went to play in the snow with no proper clothing(or spares).Do you think they cared?
Of course not!LOL It was the heaviest snow fall in 4years( Alhumdullilah we were there). In 2009 winter, it snowed for one day really heavy for around an hour. My kids couldn't go to school so they played until the sun melted the snow away.Subhunallah if it was not for the photo's or video we took.believe me,no one would say it snowed.
Looking forward to this winter.Making dua it will snow.
Oh!forgot to mention ,from my bedroom and kitchen widow you can see the mountains, so when it snows you feel like you can touch it.(All praise is to Allah)

Staying connected

sunny

Alhumdullilah with Allah's grace the technology has finally reached the Al-masri home.
I have been wanting to do this blog for about 3 years.I tried, but the tech was just not there.(All khair is from Allah.
Well, In three years things have changed. We have ADSL now which is great.
Insha Allah, I hope we can stay more connected this way and share our high and low moments with all my family and friends.

So, this signing up has been enough for me today. Will be sending photos of the kids in their new school uniforms. They look so cute.

Salaams for now
